LHS In Kelowna Reunion 2007 in Review
It is now almost 3 months since we attended the reunion, and there has been time to reflect and remember. What a wonderful time and what memories we have. The planning was superb, thanks to Julie and company. We found the regular updates, reminders and information to be most helpful.
It began with our arrival on Monday, September 24th at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna. The location was great with it’s pleasant and comfortable accommodations - not to mention the helpful and timely shutle to the airport, which was appreciated by many.
The Wine and Cheese, Meet and Greet was a wonderful way to meet with some familiar faces, and some not quite so familiar at first, but a smile or reference was all it took to recall the past.
Tuesday, was a day to enjoy our reconnections with old friends, and to also have a chance to explore the beautiful Kelowna area. Our family took part in the Okanagan Luncheon Cruise which was a lovely experience with its panoramic view of the lake and valley. The weather was lovely and the time flew by.
On Wednesday, we took in the awe-inspiring Mission Hells Winery Tour and the Apple Orchard Tour, both of which were an absolute delight. The “Friday Night Club” was a trip down memory lane, with the fifties music and decor. We loved all the old photographs and posters mounted on the walls.
The banquet on Thursday was a tremendous success and a fitting finale for the LHS Reunion in Kelowna. Reacquainting with old friends and meeting with new ones from later years and all of their partners was a most wonderful experience. Lachine High School did indeed produce some wonderful people. People were delightful and it was evident that everyone had come to thoroughly enjoy the event, and that of course contributed to it’s tremendous success.
We left our friends with a warm and happy feeling, and with promises to perpetuate the LHS connection.
Kathy (Goodwin) Legrove and Ron Legrove
Rita (Legrove) Tecter and Ron Wilson
Joan (Legrove) Peacock.
